I already posted this in the 705 thread, but since this episode was Naley centric/Scott family centric, I thought it warranted it's own thread, hehe!!!

The JL's rocked last night, like I knew they would!!!  As I'll continue to say, the storyline provides so much good material for James and Joy to work with, it's amazing.  They had to portray the whole gauntlet of emotions last night, and they absolutely shined.  Nobody else could have pulled it all off any better.  You saw how this affects them as individuals, as a couple, as parents, and as a whole family really, and it was executed to perfection.  Plus so much unscripted magic between the JL's that once again brings their chemistry with each other to the forefront and really allows Naley to shine onscreen!!!

Right off the bat, from getting the lighthearted/teasing moments before Haley got arrested, Nathan telling her the "slap" was good----so great, hehe and that's Nathan Scott for you, proud of his wife.  Then the arrest scene was so great, with protective Nathan trying to shield his wife from the cops, to having to hold Jamie back, to reassuring Haley that they'd be right there.  All so great!!!!  Haley rocked in jail, as we knew, and between Courtney yapping in her ear about all men cheating, and Renee showing up to continue to goad her, Joy was excellent with all of that.  Loved angry Nathan with Clay and Quinn and giving them the second degree about where they were? lol  That's very realistic as Naley isn't going to be for a Clay/Quinn pairing considering that Quinn is Haley sister in the midst of marital troubles, and Clay is Nathan's agent, and I loved angry/protective Nathan looking out for his family!!!

Nathan running to Haley and hugging her so tight when she got released was wonderful to see, and Naley walking out hand in hand with Nathan shielding her from all the media attention and paparazzi----was swoon worthy, hehe!!!  Quinn trying to comfort an upset Jamie was nice to see, and totally loved David showing up, as we got to see Jamie take to him instantly, showing that once again, Quinn/David have very much been a part of Jamie and Naley's lives.

One of  my favorite scenes between Naley was right after they had gotten home once Haley had been released, and Nathan immediately goes up to her with the "hey you, got any good stories from the inside" hehe and wraps his arms around her from behind.  So much love and sincerity in that moment, and a nice callback from 217, and 317, except with so much more at stake now as they are the adult couple with child, and not just teenagers trying to navigate their crazy waters.  Plus their "mini argument" if you want to call it that, was wonderful to see, very realistic and totally spot on with everything that Haley had just endured, it made perfect sense to show Haley questioning things/trying to put the pieces together, and Jamie over hearing it---even better.  Happens everyday with children overhearing their parents arguments, and I was glad to see it, plus it helped show why Jamie would be feeling scared about the state of his parents marriage considering his aunt and uncle are splitting up!!!

The Haley/Quinn scene was nice to see as it finally gave Quinn an opportunity to be there for her sister, perhaps one of Quinn's better scenes to date, plus anytime someone has a platform to gush over how great Naley is---is always awesome, hehe.  Then totally loved the Nathan/David scene at Tric with them discussing their wives, and it was a perfect Nathan moment with him remembering the tour and when him and Haley were apart and telling David that despite the separation, he never gave up hope.  Such a great brother in law scene, and James played it perfectly, as did Scott.  I really like David, although Quinn obviously doesn't deserve him, but I hope we get more with David and Naley as I like their dynamic!!!

Then the press conference, once again loved concerned Nathan telling Clay to stay away from Quinn hehe, and then Haley showing up to Nathan's surprise and reassuring him that they are in this together, is just all kinds of love for this couple.  It was like a callback from Nathan's previous 2 press conferences during S4, and it's amazing to see how far they've come.  I know some fans wished they would have shown Nathan's whole speech as one, instead of the chopped up bits as the voiceover, but I kinda liked that it was a different twist, and I thought it worked.  Not that the speech wasn't great because it was, and they've filmed it as one obviously and the JL's had so much fun between takes with it, hehe---but considering what they were setting up for next week, I thought this way worked well too.

And then loved the Jamie/Haley scene at the end with Haley returning Jamie's police car from the trash and Jamie telling Haley that he hated the PoPo, lol..  It was a great moment for mother and son as Jamie needed that reassurance that things were going to be alright between his parents, as it was very realistic for Jamie to be internalizing things with Nathan and Haley and questioning if they were ever going to split up after everything that he had just witnessed that day.  Plus loved Jamie asking Haley to stay with him, once again spot on with Jamie having to witness his mother being hauled away in front of him earlier in the day.

And loved the set up to next week with Haley and the phone number, and Dan/Renee, hehe.  I not going to give it away---but for those of you thinking about this, those were 2 huge clues last night, and that's all I'll say, lol!!!!  But this episode was very heavily Naley centric and Scott family centric obviously, as it dealt with their whole world really, and like I said, I thought it was amazing and my favorite family, rocked it, without a doubt!!!  This was just the start of what's to come with them, and I couldn't have been more pleased!!! smile

NoleGirl, I liked last night's episode, too, and I also thought that the whole Haley and Nathan dynamic was great. The best parts of the episode that I liked were Haley's scenes, especially when she was in jail with the jail bird women. All that I could keep thinking of is how funny it was to see Haley as a jail bird, and I even thought that it would have been great to see her get into a fight with one of the women. What was even better (and so typical of Haley) is that she ended up having a heartfelt conversation with the woman who had the cheating husband. I felt like this was true to Haley's nature and in-character for her to make conversation and friends with a stranger, as she has always seemingly been great at making friends with ANYONE, in my opinion.

Also, I liked the scene between Haley and Jamie when they were in his bedroom together because it was great to see Haley comforting her son and letting him know that things were going to work. As I have said before, I find it great how the writers have also toned down the whole "Jamie is a precocious, genius child" thing, too. In last night's episode, it was awesome just seeing Jamie be scared for his mother and be a regular kid. I know that Jamie is definitely a smart little boy, but I just don't feel that he needs to be portrayed as a super genius kid like he was in season 5 because that's too much. It's nice just seeing Jamie be more down to earth now, and not like he was written in the previous seasons.

As for Haley finding the phone number, I was shocked by this at the end. When I saw Dan talking to Renee, though, this confirmed my suspicions that Dan is behind the whole Renee being pregnant thing and it doesn't surprise me one bit that he is. What I wonder now is what's Dan's reasoning for trying to come between Nathan and Haley. Is Dan out for revenge or what?

Soapy,

I agree with your post except for the above paragraph.....................

First, just because Haley discovered the tramp's phone number in the phone bill does not prove anything....certainly not that Nathan called her.....imagine you are at a party, you are enjoying yourself, having a few cocktails and someone asks to use your phone....no big deal is it? Anyone could have used Nathan's phone and dialed her number.....did Haley look to see how many times that number was called? Was the number called on different dates, different times and from different locations? It really is easy to determine if you care to find out. So Haley finding the number really proves nothing.

Then you go on to actually name Dan as the person behind all this.....did you ever give it thought that perhaps Dan contacted her to see what was up? Did it ever occur to you that Dan is doing what he is doing to protect his family? It's called giving someone the benefit of the doubt.

Joey, I agree with you it is not Dan. I have been thinking this out like I'm Nancy Friggin Drew. I am pretty sure I know who it is but if I am wrong, which there is every possibility that I am, I will need the caring and support of you, Noles, and Soapman because I will be crushed-LOL.

Joey, nah, I don't give Dan any benefit of the doubt at all because I truly think that he is just as evil as ever now and I DO believe that he has set Haley and Nathan up to be tricked by this Renee skank. I can't stand the character of Dan at all, and I still can't forgive him for killing his own brother. Whenever anything bad happens for Nathan and Haley, I automatically blame Dan for it because he is usually responsible for the bad things that happen to them, anyway.

Yep---Naley rocked, hands down as anybody could see that, hehe!!!!  And good point about Haley having a heartfelt conversation with Courtney in jail as being totally in character with her and definitely such a Hales thing to do!!!!  It would even be funny if somewhere down the line, Haley and her have a run in with each other, where she tells Haley "thank you" and that perhaps she left her cheating husband, lol.  As for the fight----that would have been a great moment as well, hehe----but I did love that we got to see Haley pull her dress out of the girls hands, and back away with a scour on her face, hehe!!!  That was total Hales as well, and Joy was so great with all of that.  And it is funny to think of Haley as a jailbird, actually she is twice now, because she got arrested in S3 because of Brooke.  And  Nathan's done the jail thing twice as well, so it would be funny if Nathan teases her about this later on down the line, like make some comment to her being even with him now, lol---although he already made reference to the "great slap" that she laid down on the lying skank, so that was great as well, hehe!!!  We all know how proud he is of his bad*ss wife!!!

Oh yeah, I adored Haley and Jamie here as well!!!  I thought it was the perfect way to end the night for Haley and Jamie definitely needed that reassurance from his mom that everything was going to be okay and that his mommy and daddy weren't going to be splitting up just like his aunt and uncle are.  It was a great mother/son scene, as I always love the stuff we get with them.

And yeah, we've talked about it plenty, but it can never be repeated enough just how much better Mark and company are doing with Jamie this season.  I told you that it was another mistake that was going to get corrected, lol, and it is amazing what a difference it makes when they write for Jamie the way a kid his age should be written and portrayed.  Yes, he's smart and precocious an aware of things beyond his age, but he's also still just 7 years old, with fears, worries, and insecurities that any child trust in this situation would have, and it's so nice and rewarding to know that they're writing for him with that in mind and not forgetting that he's Naley's kid and needs to be portrayed with them, as he's first and foremost affected by what goes on with his parents!!! smile

As for the rest, I can't say without giving it all away, but I think you might be surprised with how this all unfolds!!!  But yes, there were some important clues in last night's episode!!!

Soapy, Puh-leeze, you my brother are stuck in the past.....sure Dan has done some unsavory things in the past and I am not excusing him....well I do place all the blame on MarkyMark and his band of monkeys that just slamed their paws on the keyboard and came up with the whole killing Keith storyline. What real purpose did it serve other than to paint themselves into a corner storywise?

As for Keith being sooo beloved.....why? Was it because it's normal for older brothers to lust after their younger brother's exs? Or better yet, their younger brother's wives? Yeah, that Keith... what a swell guy....I'm just glad he wasn't my brother! And you say you can't stand the Dan character.....please tell us how you feel about big brother Keith? Can you name one bad thing against Nathan that Dan was actually responsible for? Go ahead...I would love to read your reasonings.

Noles, thanks for the reminder of Haley once being in jail during season 3 because I had forgotten all about this. Anyway, I still find it funny that Haley has ever been in jail at all because she is always the good girl of the group. It's unusual for Haley to ever be in trouble or have a brush with the law, so it is hysterical for me to see when it does happen to her.

As for how everything will unfold in Nathan and Haley's current story, I am glued to my chair and excited to see how it all turns out. I have read some other posts from other posters that Rachel is behind this mess, and if she truly is, then I won't be shocked because it is just like Rachel to cause trouble. Now, if it is Dan who is behind the mess going on with Nathan, then I won't be surprised about that, either, because he always causes trouble, too.

Joey, yeah, I may be stuck in the past, but I don't care because I will always hate Dan for all of the bad things that he has done. As for Keith, I never stated that he was so "beloved," but I don't think that he deserved to die at the hands of his evil brother. Sure, Keith did some things that he shouldn't have and I don't condone them, yet I do feel that Keith was the better brother over Dan. I know that Keith lusted after Dan's ex and his wife; however, I feel that Dan brought all of that on himself. It's Dan's fault that that Keith had sex with Deb because if Dan hadn't mistreated her, then she wouldn't have slept with Keith.

About the bad things that Dan has done to Nathan, I can name a few things. I recall that in season one, it was because of Dan putting so much pressure on Nathan that Nathan turned to using drugs for better performance in his basketball career. I say that if Dan hadn't pressured Nathan at all, then Nathan wouldn't have turned to drugs in the first place. I also hold Dan responsible for the bad blood and hatred that Nathan and Lucas had for one another during the first season. Had Dan not pressured Nathan to hate his brother and if Dan would have just accepted Lucas as his son from the get-go, then Nathan and Lucas wouldn't have hated one another. Instead of Dan rejecting Lucas as his son when the boy was born, I feel that Dan should have embraced Lucas, taken responsibility for him, and allowed Lucas and Nathan to grow up together as close brothers like they are now.

Now, I know that you may not agree with my thought, but those are just my opinions.

I know it is funny, lol!!!  And it's even more hysterical that Nathan and Haley are now even with each other as far as their run ins with the law, and it would be funny if it gets mentioned, especially coming from Nathan, lol!!!

I'm glad that you are glued to your seat lol, and liking this storyline.  I think that you will enjoy watching it play out and seeing how it all unfolds!!!  Like I've been saying for months now, hehe---it's definitely a good story for all parties involved, especially NHJ and gives the Scott's plenty to work with, and I think it was a brilliant move on Mark's part to have it play out like it does.
