    • Daphne Zuniga's return as Victoria

I noticed in next week's episode that Daphne Zuniga will be back on OTH playing Victoria (a.k.a "B*I*T*C*H-TORIA") on next week's episode, and I am glad to see her coming back. I like the estranged mother-daughter relationship between Victoria and Brooke, and how much these two hate each other. I hope that with Victoria's return, this will light a fire under Brooke, which has been missing this season. Hey, maybe Victoria will get rid of Julian for Brooke. LOL!

Anyway, does anyone know for how many episodes Daphne has signed on to play Victoria again for this season? With Daphne also returning to MELROSE PLACE this season to play her Jo Reynolds character, I wonder how long she will be on OTH in the role of Victoria.

I agree with your SoapMan, I am glad she is coming back. I thought she wasn't when I heard she was going to the new MP (which by the way I think it is awful so far) but she is a good character for Brooke to play off of .  I am looking forward to seeing her next week.

Yeah, the new MP is awful and it's poor ratings reflect that.  I wouldn't be surprised if it's done by mid-season, just like I heard TBL got canned as well.  As for Daphne, she is the bright spot in Brooke's scenes, so I'm happy too that she'll appear from time to time.  I'm not sure how often we'll see her on OTH, just that we do see her in a few episodes during the first half of the season starting with 704, and if MP gets canned like I think it will, then we'll probably see her more, although she's not a main player on MP either, so her doing double duty between the shows is not really a conflict anyways!!!  I guess it just depends if/what Mark decides to write for her.

Echoing what Noles said, Zuniga's participation is kind of up in the air and dependent on a lot of things.  She's technically only recurring on MP, and you could loosely say the same for OTH.

What amazed me when they were doing all the MP premiere press was how young she looked in comparison to how she appears on OTH.  I hadn't seen Zuniga "as herself" in a while, so I was just going by OTH.  But when I saw the photos of her, there was a marked difference.

Hey, Noles and Arpagian! Well, I will disagree with the two of you that the new MELROSE PLACE series is awful because I am actually liking the show, and I want it to do well. With JOSIE BISSETT having returned to the show in last night's episode and HEATHER LOCKLEAR soon returning to the series, too, I hope that this will generate more interest amongst fans on MP. I loved Heather when she was on the original MP as Amanda, so I will definitely love to see her on the new MP show.

Also, Noles, I did hear about THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE getting cancelled, and I was ticked that it happened. Talk about The CW not giving their new shows a chance to make it!

As for Daphne Zuniga playing Victoria, I so agree that she is bright spot in Brooke's scenes and I love how Victoria lights a fire under Brooke. Victoria's bitchiness is also a great quality that I love about her. Now if MP does get cancelled, then I do hope that Mark will write more for Daphne as Victoria.

DC, I have not seen any photos of Daphne Zuniga for her role on MELROSE PLACE. Nevertheless, I think that Daphne still looks great for her age, and I just can't wait to see her on OTH again, as well as MP. At this point, I am very interested in seeing what Daphne's Jo character has been up to over the last 13 years.

Sorry Soapman, I tried to watch one episode and could not make it through.  I may try again in a while and see if I like it better. Back in the day the original MP was a big event amongst my then crew so I think I have very high expectations.

Daphne Zuniga I think, as Noles said, can do double duty and that would be cool.

Soap, it wasn't photos of her in her MP role.  It was photos of her at the premiere event.  She does look great for her age.  It seems to me that OTH purposely makes her look older.

I hope you are more pleased with MP's updates on the old characters than I've been with 90210!

DC, oh, I am definitely LOVING the new MP show's updates for the older characters, and it is fun seeing what has happened to them over the last 10 years. I loved Josie Bissett when she played Jane again in last night's episode, and Jane seems to be better and more fiery than ever this time around. Sydney clearly stayed the same, and so did Michael. With Jo and Amanda soon returning, I am eager to see how they have changed. As for 90210's updates on the old characters from the original show, I don't even know where to begin in discussing that. LOL

And thanks for the explanation on the pictures of Daphne Zuniga. Yes, I agree with you that the OTH producers purposely make her Daphne look older. I guess that Daphne just looks to young to be Sophia Bush's on-screen mother, so the producers have to make her appear older. Who knows.

Arpagian, I hope that you do get to tune into the new MP series again because I do feel that the show is gradually getting better. While I don't care for some of the new characters on the series, I am interested in David because he is Michael's son, as well as Violet because of her being Sydney's long-lost daughter. Really, since David and Violet are the only two new characters whow have connections to characters from the original show, this is the only reason for why I even care about them. With the additions of the older characters from the original MP, this only entices me more to watch the new show.
